EDHLL T-Ball Game Rules
These rules have been implemented to
help establish consistency at the Tee-ball level and help the players
learn the rules of baseball.
1. All hitting must be done off of a Tee. There is absolutely no pitching
allowed in games or practice. This is a mandatory Little League rule
for Teeball.
2. For the first half of the season, outs will not be played and all
members of a team will hit when their team is up to bat. Starting
the last week of April, games may be played with outs, provided that
both Managers agree. All members of a team will still hit even when
playing outs. When all members of the team have hit, teams are switched.
3. Batters and runners who make outs (starting the last week of April
and with Manager agreement) must return to the dugout.
4. Infield stacking is not allowed. Infield positions are limited
to 6 players at the following locations: Pitcher (area of pitcher
mound), First Baseman (area of first base), Second Baseman (area halfway
between first and second base), Shortstop (area halfway between second
and third base), Third Baseman (area of third base, and Catcher (behind
home plate). Teams are not allowed to position the second baseman
or shortstop as a second pitcher.
5. There is no limit to the number of outfielders that can be used.
Teams may play all remaining fielders in the outfield if so desired.
6. Players may play a given position only once per game and should
be rotated from infield to outfield as evenly as possible. Each player
must play at least one inning in the infield per game.
7. Solo outs only for the first four weeks of the season. Starting
the last week of April, double plays will be allowed provided there
are two defensive players involved in the play and there is an effort
to throw and catch the ball (no rundowns). At no time will triple
plays be allowed.
8. For the first half of the season, batters will be allowed only
singles and may advance one base at a time. Starting the last week
of April, (per manger agreement), doubles will be allowed. Doubles
should be allowed on sharply hit balls that make it to the outfield
without an error. Base runners ahead of the double hitter advance
only one base (no extra bases for base runners). Doubles are not allowed
on bobbled infield or outfield plays.
9. There are no strikeouts. A batter continues swinging until the
ball is hit fairly.
10. Bunting is not allowed. The ball is ruled foul if it travels less
than 10-12 feet from home plate. The Manager of the team at bat should
call foul balls.
11. Sliding is not allowed. Any runner who slides may be ruled out.
12. The infield fly rule will not be applied.
13. Stealing is not allowed. Base runners must not leave a base until
the ball has been hit. Tagging up and advancing on fly balls that
are caught is not allowed.
14. The catcher must wear all the protective gear while catching.
15. Three coaches are allowed on the playing field during a team’s
defensive play.
16. Time limit for games is one hour. Both teams need to bat an equal
number of times, so managers need to determine if adequate time is
available prior to starting the next inning.
17. Scores, won-loss records, and league standings are not kept. There
should not be any emphasis during the game on who is winning or losing.
