El Dorado
Hills Little League (EDHLL) was first chartered in 1986 as
Oakridge Little League.
EDHLL
was split into two separate little leagues due to Little League
International's policy regarding population growth and became EDHLL
South and EDHLL North. EDHLL South represents 1 of 16 local
leagues that make up District 54. Our district is one part of the
California Section, which represents one part of the four Regions that
make up
Little League International.
Each year,
EDHLL South must apply for a league charter and is held accountable to the rules and regulations of Little
League Baseball as defined by Little League International Headquarters
located in Williamsport, PA. We operate under an established
constitution and by-laws approved by Little League Headquarters.
Every September 1, we start a new season under
the direction of a newly elected Board
of Directors.
The new board then elects a League President and currently there are
nine total board positions. The President of the League provides
oversight to the selection of managers and coaches. The
assignment of players to each team including Seniors, Juniors, Majors,
AAA, AA, and A divisions is conducted via a player draft. The
assignment of players into the T-ball and Coach Pitch divisions is
determined by the Division Coordinator.
EDHLL
South has eight divisions
of play which were comprised of approximately 550 players during the
2007 season. Our program is designed to introduce and teach the
fundamental skills of baseball on a progressive level.
The
league-age determined by Little League International for each EDHLL
South division is as follows:
